Course structure:
The Bachelor of Education may be completed by completing eight course units each of 10 credit points.

A requirement of the Bachelor of Education is that all students undertake a specialisation, normally comprising a six unit major study and two units selected from another specialisation, or two four unit minor studies. Continuing students who have commenced a
specialisation within their undergraduate qualification, may continue this specialisation into their Bachelor of Education. Variations from these specific specialisation patterns will be considered by the coordinator. Requests for variation should be submitted in writing.
Specialisations available within the Faculty of Education include Aboriginal Education, Physical Education and Health, Studies in Early Childhood, Language and Literacy, Vocational and Adult Education, Mathematics and Science Education, Teachers' Work, Applied Curriculum, LOTE and TESOL, Arts Education, and Education Administration. Other specialist sequences may be taken in the Faculties of Law, Business, Science or Arts. Cross-institutional enrolment, and the provision for independent units of study, will further extend the range of units available within specialist areas.

Entrance qualifications: Normal admission is a Diploma of Teaching, a Graduate Diploma in Education or their equivalent. Applicants who hold a Teachers Certificate or other professional qualification which does not equate to a minimum of three years academic training will be considered for admission. Such applicants will be required to
undertake a bridging program. The length and content focus of this bridging program will depend upon the applicants' background and prior experience.

All persons wishing to enrol in Teacher Education courses are required to demonstrate sufficient proficiency in English to enable them to undertake successfully tertiary level studies.
